How do you handle life in the middle of a storm. How did Jesus handle a tumultuous sea. While He and His disciples were going from one shore to another across a sea, a storm came up. It was big enough to cause fear in the hearts of all but Jesus who was sleeping on a cushion in the stern. Finally, they woke Him. “Teacher, don’t you care that we drown?” He then rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” Then the wind ceased, and there was dead calm. Then He turned to them and said, “Why are you afraid? Have you still no faith?” After all they’ve seen, and been a part of, they Still don’t know? They were amazed that even the wind and sea obey Him!
This is the way I, and my family have lived our lives for five generations that I can remember.
We are in a war. Satan has been trying to steal from us, kill us, and destroy us since Adam and Eve were created.
The cross brought back to us the Authority he stole from us in the garden. The cross brought us more than salvation — if we receive it. There are many more things to be had IF we will receive them.
We could be walking in God’s plans for us — IF we receive, and step forward in faith.
In recent years, Satan has tried to take me out through the last stages of a narcissistic husband, then through what doctors and nurses labeled as “the most horrific thing a person can go through.” I laughed at the devil through the narcissist, and stood in peace through the 10 1/2 hour surgery. Others were horrified, but through it all, I felt like I was standing in the middle of a battlefield, observing the carnage around me, while I was in perfect peace. I had a Covenant with God for Protection. I had said, “Peace be still” to the storm around me. There was no need for me to participate in fear.
Fear draws Satan like faith draws God. There’s no need for fear IF you choose faith.
